October 2026 Newsletter

Hello!

October sees the city back in full swing after the last quiet weeks of summer are finally in the rear view mirror. October and November explode into life, with several great festivals – most of which are food-forward if you like any of the Crescent City’s delicacies. Fried Chicken, BBQ, beignets and po’ boys are all celebrated as only New Orleans can, with vendors and live music for family-friendly foodie days. Of course, Halloween will already be ramping up by the time you read this, and many of the city’s houses will be decorated with scary amounts of creativity – if you’ve never experienced Halloween in the Big Easy before, it’s really one of the very best times to visit us. The Krewe of Boo is the official parade on Oct 24th, but the whole city is awash with parties, shows, haunted houses and much more for the whole of October. Thanksgiving allows you to watch horses or human horseracing, and after that we’re in the build-up to the festive season as Celebration in the Oaks sets up its impressive light shows. In short, there’s something for everyone no matter what your tastes. Come and see us, we promise it’s all treats and no tricks at our lovely, legal and licensed bed and breakfast inns.
